Local Information
Lifecraft's Mental Health Handbook is an excellent resourse with plenty of information about local statutory and voluntary services. You can download the handbook or get a copy from Lifecraft.
The Working Together for Recovery website is also an excellent and growing resource with many ideas to improve the quality of life
Our NHS Trust covers Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and their site has news and links to service information.
National Organisations
MDF The Bipolar Organisation, our parent organisation, has a range of services. There are several publications you can buy.
MIND has information about mental health conditions, treatments, legislation and your rights.
The Depression Alliance, has information about managing depression.
Rethink (formerly The National Schizophrenia Fellowship) is mainly aimed at carers of people with serious mental health conditions.
The Royal College of Psychiatrists has information about mental health conditions and treatments including factsheets you can download.
Mental Health Care is a site aimed mainly at carers although much of the information will also be of interest to people with the condition.
NHS Direct has some information on the condition.
SANE is a national voluntary organisation that has information and help for people with mental health problems.

Treatment
You can download the influential NICE clinical guidelines from here
Norfolk Mental Health Care NHS Trust Pharmacy site is the best British site we have found for medication information. The sites above also contain much useful info.

Other resources
Dr Neil Hunt is a Consultant Psychiatrist with a particular interest in Bipolar Disorder. He has written several articles for our newsletter and visited the group on many occasions.

There are several other pages on the Web about manic depression/bipolar disorder. Two good ways into that information are: About Bipolar Disorder and Pendulum. Remember, though, that drug names and clinical practices may be different in other countries
